Picking up the Pieces (UPDATE)

This game was created as a team effort with the Neon Badger Games team that was formed for the DES101 module at Abertay University in 2022. 

Picking up the Pieces is a head to head, race-to-the-finish style Lego board game in which you must repair your damaged ship by collecting Lego pieces as you move around a circular board. Make sure you get to the hyperdrive first - only 1 remains.

Read below for a game summary:

After sustaining major damage in a meteor shower, you, and the rest of your fleet are hurtling through deep space, heading straight for NbG 22 – the galaxies most ferocious black hole.

In order to break free from the gravitational pull and avoid being forced past the point of no return, you must quickly repair your ship by scavenging parts from the debris around you.

Not only will you battle the brutality of space, but you will also face the prospect of on-board electrical faults, dwindling oxygen, solar flares and other deadly-encounters that may hinder your progress.

And if you think that wasn’t enough; there are only enough parts for one ship to be fully repaired. The hyperdrive, caught in a gravity bubble near the centre of the black hole, is the last piece you need to break free from its orbit.

To win, you will need to collect enough parts to fully repair your ship and break free from the pull of the black hole.

Will you be able to rebuild your ship in time?

Will you sacrifice your friends to save yourself?
